IPL 2024: Four Players Gujarat Titans (GT) Can Target In The Auction. There are very few teams who don’t have big stars but still, they manage to outperform their opponents. Gujarat Titans are one such team who don’t have some of the heavyweights of modern-day cricket but they have proved everyone wrong with some impressive performances. Captain Hardik Pandya has played an inspiring role but on the other hand, the team has collectively played well.
The team won the Indian Premier League (IPL) title in 2022 and finished runner-up in 2023. In this post, we will discuss who could be the possible targets for the franchisee next season. The owners might look for players who are not established, players at the international level to build a team for the future. As per reports, the BCCI is looking to increase the purse value of franchises from 95 to INR 100 crore in IPL 2024 auction. We take a look at the possible targets Gujarat Titans higher-ups might go after for the next auctions.
1. Chetan Sakariya
The left-arm medium pacer is one of the upcoming talents who can be the future of Indian cricket. The 25-year-old has so far impressed with his line and his ability to swing the ball both ways. Sakariya was bought for a sum of INR 4.5 crore by Delhi Capitals during the 2023 auctions. The Bhavnagar born can trouble the batsmen with his seam movements that tend to make the batters make mistakes.
Sakariya has so far taken 20 wickets in 19 IPL games so far with the best figures of 3/31. Gujarat Titans management might target him during the IPL 2024 auction to add a surprise element to the bowling department and also as a long-term option in the pace department.

2. Rahul Tripathi
The 32-year-old Ranchi-born will provide a backup option in the batting order in case of an injury to an established batter. The right-hander hasn’t done enough during the 2023 season to mirror his talent but Tripathi has so far scored 2071 runs in 89 IPL games with a strike rate of 138.99 by registering 11 half-centuries.
He was bought for a sum of INR 8.50 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad during the 2023 auctions. Tripathi can hit those big shots when needed as he can also contribute with a short quick scoring inning. The franchise owners might take a chance with Rahul Tripathi as he can also score through his unorthodox stroke play.
3. Narayan Jagadeesan
The wicket-keeper batsman can be a handy backup option in place of Wriddhiman Saha in the future. The 27-year-old was bought for a sum of INR 90 lakhs by Kolkata Knight Riders in the 2023 auctions. Jagadeesan has just played 13 IPL games scoring 162 runs so far but giving him enough opportunities in the playing eleven the Coimbatore-born can be a valuable option for the future given the talent he possesses. At the moment, Jagadeesan isn’t a regular wicket-keeper but he can be groomed given his athletic fielding.
