IPL 2024: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) Can Release 5 Players Before Auction: Sunrisers Hyderabad had a poor season, finishing at the bottom of the IPL 2023 points table and winning only four of 14 games. Aiden Markram captained the side in IPL 2023 and looked well in a few matches, but owing to an inexperienced batting and bowling lineup, they lost the matches and ended 10th in IPL 2023.
Following the conclusion of the IPL 2023 Auction, many fans believed that the Hyderabad-based franchise had a formidable line-up and was a ‘dark horse’ to win the title. The Orange Army, on the other hand, fell short of expectations. The team’s owners and coaches performed an excellent job, but the players fell short of expectations.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad management team is already looking ahead to the IPL 2024 Auction. Given the failure of various players this season, some of the current SRH team members may be discharged shortly. Here are five players who may be released by Sunrisers Hyderabad before the IPL 2024 auction.
5 Players Hyderabad Might Release Before IPL 2024 Auction
Harry Brook
When SRH signed Harry Brook for 13.25 crore, it created quite a buzz among the franchises as almost everybody needs this young English blood in their middle order. SRH signed him following his great run with the bat in Test cricket.
However, Brook has not been able to provide the team with excellent beginnings as an opener and has been one of the major reasons for SRH’s poor performance this season. While Brook scored a century against KKR, he struggled in most of the games. SRH may release him and repurchase him at a lower price.
Kartik Tyagi
Having too many choices in the team may also be an issue at times. Kartik Tyagi is one of the numerous speed possibilities on the SRH team. Kartik Tyagi has appeared in 19 IPL matches and took 15 wickets with a strike rate of 26.5. The emerging star has not been very outstanding in SRH colors, which is why the team’s management may decide to let him leave.

Mayank Agarwal
Former Punjab Kings captain Mayank Agarwal was another significant buy by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 8.75 crore. He, too, has struggled with the bat this season.
Mayank Agarwal has appeared in 123 IPL matches and has scored 2597 runs at an average of 22.98. Based on these numbers, readers could conclude that he had a successful career, yet in IPL 2023, he only scored 270 runs in 10 innings. This may result in his release.
Washington Sunder
Washington Sundar: The allrounder, who has been ruled out of the competition owing to an injury, has been one of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s greatest disappointments this season. Sundar, who cost Rs 8.75 crore, has been a total disappointment with both the bat and the ball.
He only played 7 matches in the IPL 2023, but he failed in every way. He made just 60 runs with the bat and got only 3 wickets, which is significantly less than what he is paid to achieve.
Umran Malik
Umran Malik is a emerging star bowler for the SRH who is known for bowling nasty bouncers directly on the toes of batters. Because of his outstanding performance in 2022, he was kept by Hyderabad for Rs 4. Cr, which is a significant sum for a newcomer.
However, he had a bad year this year, failing to produce in every match. Umran may be released this year since he only took 5 wickets in eight matches.
