IPL 2024: Suryakumar Yadav Has Been Declared Fit, Likely To Play Against Delhi Capitals. Suryakumar Yadav has been given the green light to play in Mumbai Indians’ upcoming IPL match against Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday. After missing over three months of cricket, the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru has cleared the middle-order batsman. The BCCI and the physiotherapists at the NCA conducted thorough checks before allowing Yadav to return to action.
“He’s fit now. The NCA had him play some practice matches and he seemed fine. He’s cleared to rejoin the Mumbai Indians team. We wanted to make sure Surya was completely fit before he went back to MI. He wasn’t feeling fully fit during his first fitness test before the IPL, so we waited to see if he had any pain while batting,” said a source in the BCCI. They added that the batsman had to undergo three fitness tests.

Yadav hurt his ankle badly during the T20I series in South Africa, which was supposed to keep him out of action for seven weeks. But then he had another problem, so he had to get surgery for a hernia. This surgery meant he couldn’t play until now.
Yadav, who is ranked as the top T20I batsman by the ICC, returning to play will boost the morale of the Mumbai Indians team. They haven’t had a good start in the IPL 2024 season, losing three games in a row. Their new captain, Hardik Pandya, has been getting criticism from fans in every match.
