Word is that Chelsea is still very much keen on signing Victor Osimhen even after the star striker has joined Galatasaray in Istanbul. The European club wasn’t able to secure a deal with Osimhen because of differences over personal terms.
Chelsea was short of €100,000 per week. And the Nigerian footballer’s move to Saudi Arabia also didn’t work out. Thus, Victor, 25, found settled with Galatasaray. Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer expert, said the most sought-after footballer had made do with the Turkish FC on a one-year loan and a couple of conditions.
He said Victor Osimhen had been adamant on two clauses, the first being his release clause at Napoli be changed from €130 million to €75 million, and the break clause in January.
Chelsea May Put Forth New Deal
Romano believes the Blues are set to reopen talks with the Nigerian striker and most likely to seal the deal. He highlighted that European clubs are still very much keen to rope in Victor. The expert said Chelsea tried to make things happen and failed, but the appreciation remains. Romano said Chelsea’s appreciation of Osimhen as a player remains loud and clear.
However, this is not the first time that Chelsea let a star player slip away. It faced a similar situation with Jamal Musiala. And now the youngster is among the most sought after value at a huge £110m as per the Transfermarkt.
