Copa America 2024: Group, Teams, Schedule, Venues, Time In IST & Where To Watch. Latin America’s biggest football tournament, the Copa America kicks off on June 21 in the United States. Copa America, which was originally named the South American Football Championship, is held every four years. It is a 108-year-old South American soccer championship.
Also known as World Cup of the Americas, Copa America 2024 will be held across 14 venues in the US, including Hard Rock Stadium, from June 20 to July 14. 16 teams from North, South and Central America are vying for the Cup across 32 matches. This time around, there will be six guest teams challenging the established CONMEBOL, the governing body of South American football, for their cup.
Argentina won the last Copa America title in 2021 when it beat Brazil 1-0, securing its first Copa America victory in 28 years. This was also a victory for Lionel Messi who garnered his first ever win in Argentine jersey after more than 10 years of club and individual honors.
Copa America is also a prelude to the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be jointly hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico. It should be noted that in 2018, CONMEBOL amended the competition calendar so that Copa America would be held the same year as UEFA EURO. This started from 2020.

Groups, Teams For Copa America 2024
Copa America 2024 has been divided into four groups:
Group A: Argentina, Peru, Chile, Canada
Group B: Mexico, Ecuador, Venezuela, Jamaica
Group C: USA, Uruguay, Panama, Bolivia
Group D: Brazil, Costa Rica, Colombia, Paraguay
10 CONMEBOL Teams: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombo, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela
6 CONCACAF Teams (Guests): Canada, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Mexico, Panama, USA

The respective teams will play their group stage games, then the top two teams from each group will advance into the knockout rounds, while the bottom two teams will be eliminated. Copa America plays the same format as UEFA EUROs.
