Lesley Ugochukwu Equalizes For Chelsea, 2-2 Draw With Wrexham. Chelsea drew 2-2 with Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham in a pre-season friendly match in Santa Clara, California – USA.  The Welsh FC has been capitalizing on its popularity and play style thanks to Rob McElhenney and Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds ownership.

Enzo Maresca, Chelsea manager, defended the team’s draw with Wrexham, saying that this was their first game. The Blues led Wrexham in the first half with a goal from Christopher Nkunku. Chelsea dominated the majority of the game, possession, and created chances against the Welsh club.

However, Wrexham dominated in the second half with Luke Bolton drawing a 1-1 with Chelsea. And it took a 2-1 lead against the Blues with a goal from Jack Marriott.  And then came the equalizer from Chelsea’s Lesley Ugochukwu in the final 10 minutes. Chelsea recorded 10 substitutions at halftime, but this didn’t do much to put the side into a lead. The Blues dominated the game, but Wrexham’s defense was equally strong.

Maresca said he will continue with his style of play. He highlighted that teams that try to build from the back concede goals sometimes. But Maresca believes one will score more than they concede. He acknowledged that there are many things that Chelsea can improve and work on.

The manager said they started just two weeks ago, and its important for them to see the identity of the team. He said it’s always shaky at the beginning of a new campaign, then it gets better. The Chelsea boss is content with the play.
