After signing Mohamed Salah’s contract extension, Liverpool is looking at reeling in Alexander Isak from Newcastle United this summer. Anfield is willing to pay as much as $170 million for the Swedish footballer.

Word going around is that Liverpool is likely to make a move soon. And it could be a major blow to Newcastle as Isak is one of the best strikers the club has had this season. Isak, 25, is known for his pace, power, and a calm finishing touch. If the Reds scoop him up, it will be a significant loss for the Magpies.

Liverpool has been showing interest in Isak for a number of months now and has been emboldened by Mo Salah’s contract extension. Reds’ management approached the Newcastle United striker’s representatives after he scored in the Liverpool vs. Newcastle match in the Carabao Cup final last month.
