Ahead of the match against Arsenal on Sunday, Manchester City has a fresh injury with Kevin De Bruyne. The star midfielder sustained a groin injury in the Champions League match against Inter Milan which concluded a 0-0 draw. De Bruyne was taken off at half-time and replaced by Phil Foden.
Pep Guardiola, Manchester City manager, says they will assess De Bruyne. He highlighted that the doctors said the 33-year-old wasn’t right to play. Guardiola explained that when a player is alone and loses easy balls, there’s a counterattack that is impossible to stop. He said one has to be precise, which happened very quickly with De Bruyne.
The midfielder sustained the injury when running in on goal where he faced Yann Sommer, of Inter Milan. De Bruyne missed 41 games last season mainly due to a hamstring injury. As per his contract, he has one year left with Manchester City.
