Daniele De Rossi, the head coach of AS Roma, a football club in Rome, has been terminated because the team failed to score any goals in its first four league matches of the season.
The Serie A side, in an official statement, said this decision is in the best interests of the team. AS Roma wants the team to get back on the desired path as soon as possible, and especially at a time when the season is still in its early stage. It thanked Daniele for his services, adding that he will always be at home at the Giallorossi club. The club acknowledged him for his work in recent months.
Daniele, 41, spent nearly 20-years at Roma as a player, then as a head coach. AS Roma had recently extended his contract to June 2027, but now has terminated him. This comes after Roma drew 1-1 with Genoa over the weekend. It is set to play against Udinese on September 22.

Under Daniele’s guidance, AS Roma made it into the UEFA Europa League semi-finals in 2023-24 season and completed sixth in the league.
Who Will Be the Next Coach for AS Roma?
The Serie A club is struggling with longevity and consistency, and is now in search for its eighth manager in 11 years. With Champions League 2024-25 on, AS Roma will need to appoint a new manager as soon as possible.
The Italian club is looking at potential candidates to fill Daniele’s shoes, including Thomas Tuchel, who has coached Chelsea, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG); Rudi Garcia, who was previously connected with Roma; and Stefano Pioli, former AC Milan coach.
