The countdown to IPL 2022 auction has begun. On February 12 and 13, the 15th auction of IPL history will be held in Bangalore in which a total of 590 players will participate in the auction. 370 domestic and 220 foreign players are divided into eight (2 cr, 1.5 cr, 1 cr, 75 lakhs, 50 L, 30 & 20 lakhs) base prices. The maximum base price is 2 crores while the minimum is 20 lakhs.
There were 90-90 crores in the purses of all the IPL teams before the retention. All the 10 teams spent a total of 337.7 crores on the retention of 33 players. Now they have 562.3 crores remaining.
Who Will Be The Auctioneer In IPL 2022 Mega Auction
International British auctioneer Hugh Edmeades will be the man running the mega auction show in Bengaluru. In 2018 Hugh was appointed by the BCCI as the auctioneer for the IPL 2019. Hugh Edmeades has conducted more than 2500 auctions in his 35-year long career. British national Edmeades has sales experience of over 3 million lots worth approximately 2.7 billion pounds.

Hugh Edmeades became only the second person after Richard Madley to have the privilege of conducting the prestigious IPL Auction. Madley was the IPL auctioneer from 2008 to 2010. 2021 mega auction was held in Chennai
IPL 2022 Auction Hotel
The board has not yet made any formal announcement about which hotel the mega auction will take place in. It is being speculated that the auction will be held at The Leela Palace or JW Marriott in Bangalore.
