WPL 2026: Teams, Squads, Schedule, Venues, Results and Man of the Match. The Women’s Premier League 2026 is the fourth edition of India’s biggest women’s T20 tournament. The season runs from January 9 to 5 February 5, 2026, packed into a high-intensity window. A total of 22 matches will be played, including league games, an eliminator, and the final.

Teams and format

The five franchises in WPL 2026 are: Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, and UP Warriorz.

Each team plays the others twice in the league stage. That creates 20 league matches in total. The top team qualifies directly for the final. Teams placed second and third play the Eliminator.

Squads and Captains

Squads were finalised at the WPL 2026 auction held in November 2025. Teams focused on overseas all-rounders and experienced Indian batters. Mumbai Indians rely on Harmanpreet Kaur’s leadership and middle-order power. RCB bank on Smriti Mandhana’s consistency at the top. Delhi Capitals continue to back young Indian talent Jemimah Rodrigues. Ashleigh Gardner, a proven match-winner, leads the Gujarat Giants. UP Warriorz appointed Meg Lanning as captain before the season.

The season opener was played on 9 January 2026. Mumbai Indians faced Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the opening match.

Matches are hosted at two venues. They are the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai and the BCA Stadium in Vadodara. The final will be played in Vadodara on 5 February 2026. Most matches begin at 7:30 PM IST.
