Erling Haaland has been nominated for the UEFA Champions League Goal of the Day prize for his sensational backheel volley that took Manchester City the lead against Sparta Prague.
The Norwegian footballer was at his best as he scored two goals, giving fans a glimpse of his prowess on the field. Haaland is celebrated for his form and athleticism. His style also caught Pep Guardiola’s attention who said it’s unbelievable.
The manager highlighted that the youngster scored two goals and could have scored more – Haaland can touch the ball 15 times, but have seven or eight chances.

Guardiola said Haaland made an incredible goal similar to Dortmund a few years ago. Phil Foden was also all praises for his fellow teammate. He said “I don’t know how he does it, it’s just how long his legs are.” Foden lauded Haaland, calling him a freak having such a talent that no one else can do.
But he was pulled off field in the 81st minute. Haaland, 24, looked annoyed with Guardiola’s decision but walked off the field with a smile. The Manchester City manager said the striker understands the decisions. Guardiola highlighted that Haaland is generous with the team.
Manchester City won 5-0 over Sparta Prague.
