IND vs AUS 1st Test Day 2 Highlights: A Mighty Batting Show From Yashasvi And KL Rahul: After dismissing the Australian team for 104 runs in the first inning, India walked out to bat once again, with Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul putting up a decent performance at the top of the order. On the second day, it was all about the Indian batter’s mighty show. Both scored half-centuries, Jaiswal scoring 90 and KL stands at 62 not out.
The pair added a hundred for the first wicket, extending India’s first-inning lead of 46 runs. At the end of the day’s play, India was ahead by 218 runs without losing a single wicket at 172. This left the Australians in a challenging situation. In a bid to still the flow of runs, attacking lines were put in by Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc. But the pitch was favorable for batting.
Earlier in the day, the opposition’s batting collapsed, and Indian bowlers were destructive. Jasprit Bumrah’s five-wicket haul was key to this strategy, as was support from Harshit Rana and Mohammed Siraj.

With all that considered and with the difficult task of building on the lead being handed to them, the major concern will be what strategy they employ on Day 3. The issue is whether they will issue a declaration to win the match or try to bat out any last chances that might be left for Australia in the contest. In the meantime, Australia finds itself with an impossible mountain to climb to go back into the game.
