The budget for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was recently approved by the International Cricket Council (ICC) at its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Colombo which is estimated to be around $65 million. Amongst others, about $35 million has been possibly allocated towards competition alone while other costs may range between $20 million towards participation or prize money and another $10 million towards production among other areas of concern.
Tournament Schedule:
The PCB has chosen Gaddafi Stadium (in Lahore), National Bank Cricket Arena (Karachi), and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium as venues for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held from February 19 until March 9, 2025, according to the schedule.
India’s Participation:
However, it is uncertain if India will participate, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pushing for a hybrid model that plays their games at a neutral venue instead of coming to Pakistan. For instance, PCB has posted a draft schedule whereby India will meet Pakistan on March 1, 2025, at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
