Rafael Nadal Predicts Carlos Alcaraz Will Be ‘One Of The Best In History’, Has Huge Potential. Two-time Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz has made quite an impression on Rafael Nadal, who is hitting the court at the Nordea Open in Sweden. Nadal believes Alcaraz, 21, is going to be one of the best in history.
The 22x Grand Slam champion highlighted that the Spaniard’s level of tennis is super high. Nadal also acknowledges Jannik Sinner, saying he can see Alcaraz with Sinner. But he added there are not many players that can stop the youngster. Nadal asserted that the best thing Alacaraz has is that he is going to be the favorite in every tournament that he plays, irrespective of the surface – clay or grass.
The legendary tennis player shared that during his time (generation), he was the favorite on clay while Rodger Federer was the favorite on grass, and there was a split between Federer and Novak Djokovic on hard.

Carlos Alcaraz Current Generation’s All-Round Favorite
Nadal highlighted that no one player was the favorite before every tournament. But today it’s Alcaraz, already a four-time Grand Slam champion, all-round. The young tennis sensation has a big advantage with the level he’s playing and its difficult for anybody to beat him.
Nadal recalled playing with Juan Monaco, Carlos Moya, and Zabaleta in his teens, the Play Station and small after-parties. There were different things. Now in his late 30s, the No.1 singles champion said life is changing and he is putting attention on his surroundings. He shared that when one is a little bit older, they are more interested in going around, walking around and knowing a little bit more about where they are, and their surroundings.
Nadal is playing in the Swedish Open, and won the first doubles match with partner Casper Ruud 6-1 6-4 against Guido Andreozzi and Miguel Reyes-Varela.
