With this victory, India jumped higher into the points table of the group stage. Harmanpreet Kaur was adjudged the player of the match.
India Women scored a massive total of 174/3 against Sri Lanka Women. Indian team captain Harmanpreet Kaur top scored with a quick 52 runs off 27 balls which included some hits towards the end that took the score past 170. Also, Shafali Verma provided support by adding 46 runs in a quick time.
Towards the end of the innings, Sri Lanka’s bowlers managed to keep the Indians quiet. Courtesy of Kaur’s attacking efforts, which claimed the upper hand towards the close of the innings for India.
In the second innings of the match, Sri Lanka was given a high target of 173 runs. They began their chase even worse as Indian bowlers struck early on, reducing Sri Lanka to 40/3 even before the end of the powerplay. Radha Yadav and Deepti Sharma bowled brilliantly, and the pressure continued to build as Sri Lanka kept losing wickets.

With some fightback from Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka could not put up a sizeable stand as they finished their innings without going close to the target of 173 runs, managing to score 90 runs only. India won the match by a huge margin of 82 runs.
