IPL 2026: Kohli, Padikkal Power RCB to Stunning Chase Over GT. Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Gujarat Titans by five wickets in a high-scoring match in Bengaluru. The chase of 206 was completed in 18.5 overs with seven balls remaining. This victory marked RCB’s 50th win in Chinnaswamy Stadium. Gujarat Titans scored 205/3 in 20 overs with a run rate of 10.25. Sai Sudharsan played a brilliant innings of 100 runs from 58 balls. He also became the fastest batter to reach 2,000 IPL runs.
Shubman Gill scored 32 runs from 24 balls with steady support. Jos Buttler added 25 runs from 16 balls in the middle overs. For RCB, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took 1/31 in four overs. Suyash Sharma finished with 1/36 in four overs. Josh Hazlewood picked 1/40 in his four-over spell.

Kohli leads RCB’s strong chase
RCB scored 206/5 in 18.5 overs at a run rate of 10.94. Virat Kohli played a match-winning knock of 81 runs from 44 balls. His strike rate remained above 180 throughout the innings. Devdutt Padikkal scored 55 runs from 27 balls with aggressive batting. His partnership with Kohli shifted the match in RCB’s favour. Krunal Pandya remained unbeaten on 23 runs from 12 balls. He finished the match calmly in the final overs. Rashid Khan was the best bowler for GT with 2/49 in four overs. Manav Suthar picked 1/19 in two overs with good control. Mohammed Siraj took 1/25 in three overs for GT.

This match showed that 200-plus totals are not safe in modern T20 cricket. RCB’s aggressive batting made the chase look easy and controlled. GT will need better bowling execution in upcoming matches.
